| Washing Care Instructions | ||
| WASHING | ||
| • Wash bed linen items separately to other items to protect the material and prevent rubbing against harsher fabrics and components (such as zips, or buttons). • The wash temperature identified on the care label is a reference to the highest temperature the bed linen can withstand; consider washing at a lower temperature to save energy. • Remove the bedding promptly from the washing machine to avoid any colour transfer and shake the sheets out before placing in the dryer to reduce creases. |
||
| DRYING | ||
| • When possible, line dry sheets out of direct sunlight. This will help with the level of creasing and ironing needed. • When using a tumble dryer, choose a low-heat setting to protect fibres and prevent wrinkles. • Be careful not to over dry sheets, as this will weaken their natural fibres and potentially cause them to deteriorate. • If intending to iron, take sheets out while damp and iron. If ironing completely dry, dampen the fabric thoroughly before |
||
| KEEPING SHEETS WHITE | ||
| • Regularly launder white sheets to help maintain brightness and freshness. • Ensure your washing machine is totally clean. If your washing machine has a ‘Drum clean’ or ‘Tub clean’ setting, it is a cleaning cycle designed to remove detergent residue and build up. • Wash similar colours together to avoid any colour transfers. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can dull the finish. • Some sheets will allow the use of non-chlorine bleach only and others no bleach at all, depending on the finishing process, type of fibre and colour. It’s usually better to avoid chlorine bleaches as these can have a chemical reaction to protein stains and turn them more yellow. Check individual care labels for guidance. • Treat stains quickly. This will increase your chances of removing them, rather than letting them settle into the fibres. • Do not overload your washing machine – this can prevent it from cleaning whites properly as items cannot move as freely around the drum to remove dirt. • Use the correct dosage of detergent to prevent build up and stop white bedding from turning grey. |
